All I can think is something similar to 'Robot Building', only with either castles or clockwork.

Being diplomatic. Make it a pseudo DDR style minigame to resolve a dispute of some sort.
The Court is the big diplomatic faction, right? If not, disregard this.

Yes, but I was more referring to the gameplay style, i.e. a series of symbols representing buttons rush towards the top of the screen, and you have to press them at the right time.

Or you could have them navigate themselves through a maze, which is actually a tower, therefore haveing multiple floors ('levels') with special items (or cutscenes!) at the top! (And/or bottom!)

Well, it's a minigame, so probably no cutscenes. Perhaps a side quest, though?
