Remember when hills used to be half circles, mountains triangles, and roads straight and never turning? Houses were square with a triangle on top, and a sun was merely a circle with lines?
Then you discovered that hills overlapped, there was more than one row of mountains (usually two) and roads went off into the horizon, but still forever straight. Houses had more to them, such as a garage, and the sun had triangles not lines.
Your drawings became more detailed as time went on, and people usually weren’t made of sticks anymore, but of circles. Each shape evolved into a more complex shape, until the drawings began to look like whatever their model was.
I remember the first picture I drew quite clearly. It was much like many first drawings, except different. There was a rectangle house with a triangle roof, a sun with lines, and a tree with round clouds above it.
I showed my mother that picture like it was the world, and she treated it like it was. She praised me, and pinned it up right where everyone could see it when they first entered the main living space of our small home.
Every picture from then on got pinned on that wall, until we had a wall covered in my drawings that slowly got better each time. But still my first picture stayed in the center, standing out in its own way somehow.
((A/N: Garages probably don't exist in the RotS world. Hmm. This is about Johann, by the way.))
