In the six moon long winter, the Silent Rose live in the great hills of Silron. The hills are all of a great ore. They farm the silty floodplains during this time, and live in their temporary cities made out of Beridite. They mine the surrounding metal hills extensivley, gathering quartz and Beridite. They use the quartz as decoration, and the Beridite for everything else. Their houses are temporary, and made out of this extremely supple, light material.
The noontide moon comes inevitably. During the month beforehand, the Silent Rose harvests their crops and packs them into their very compact homes, which they convert into airships. As the mountains begin to melt they produce hydrium, which they harvest in bags, and use it to hoise their houses into the air where they transform into airships. Some houses fly, some houses sail.
The great melted ocean of silver vaporizes the silt below. The rose plants that begin to grow in the spring, are carried by the mountains' meltwaters and flows floating in the oceans. The multitude of ironfins (fish) that hibernate within the mountains during the winter, awaken for their own month long mating season.
The Silent Rose fly or sail upon the burning sea for the noontide month. There is never really night in the noontide month, the light of the burning seas keeps the province forever in twilight. The ocean settles between the iron mountains or kevahs in Roseling. (?!)
The borders of the fire ocean make the borders of the Silent Rose. The Silent Rose, their flower (not the faction itself), is twelve feet long. For the seven week long month, the Silent Rose people hunt the birds of the air and fish the ironfins of the sea. They eat the leaves of the roses, but to touch one of the petals is sacrilage.
Autumn comes inevitably. The seeds of the roses are scattered throughout the orange sea, and they glow pink in the twilight for one day.
Then the rains start. The flowers all lose their petals. The rain cools the silveride and erodes it into a new formation of hills and valleys. Their rain brings silt from the mountains. The Silent Rose spend the rain month eating the harvests of the summer. Four weeks later they return to the earth and rebuild their cities. They farm the silt again, mine the silveron hills for beridium, and the flowers coat the dark metal hills in green. Winter comes again.
